 Mission Statement

The mission of Oakland Heights Elementary is to establish a strong foundation for lifelong learning by infusing learning styles theories, technology, individualized student instruction, character education, arts integration, and parental involvement to meet the needs of our diverse student population.

Our Motto

 All students can learn.

Student !earning is the chief priority of our school.

Curriculum and. instructional practices should incorporate a variety of learning activities to accommodate the different ways that children learn.

Students learn best when they are actively engaged and material is presented in meaningful contexts.

Staff members are committed to continuous professional development in order
to help students become confident, self-directed learners.

Staff members hold high expectations for students in both academics and-self-
discipline.

Each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional,
and intellectual needs.

A student's self-esteem is enhanced by positive relationships, mutual respect
and recognition as a valued individual.

A safe and physically comfortable environment promotes student learning.

Educators, parents, students and community members share in the responsibility for providing a supportive learning environment within our school.
